The Land of Israel
While traveling through the markets of Jerusalem, I carried my Canon Rebel everywhere I went. I spent time with merchants selling everything from vibrant textiles to freshly baked bread, listening to their stories and learning how their world has changed over the years. Working in one of the oldest cities on earth, they now navigate the pressures of a rapidly advancing, technology-driven economy. Many told me how difficult it was to shift from cash—once essential for supporting their families—to credit card payments that can take days to process, a transition that has even forced some shops to close. Photographing their resilience and the tension between tradition and modern life was a powerful experience.
