Brooke Babbit

Brooke Babbit is a photographer based in Atlanta, Georgia. Her photography journey began in the summer of 2020 in Paris, France, where she enrolled in an intensive photography program, Oxbridge Academy . During this month-long course, she specialized in film photography, immersing herself in darkroom techniques, film cameras, and exposure settings. This experience sparked a lasting passion for analog photography, leading her to spend countless hours perfecting her darkroom skills — often at the expense of exploring the city itself.

Upon returning to the United States, Brooke pursued every photography class available at her high school. Her dedication was recognized by her photography teacher, who created an advanced independent study course tailored specifically to her interests. As she continued to refine her craft, Brooke developed a deep interest in photojournalism. Capturing the essence of diverse communities and individuals striving for change gave her a sense of purpose and excitement that solidified her commitment to the field.

In the summer of 2025, Brooke attended the London School of Economics, where she studied International Journalism and Society: The Role of the Media in the Modern World. There, she examined how global media influences culture, politics, and public discourse — an experience that further fueled her passion for photojournalism and sharpened her understanding of storytelling through a journalistic lens.

Brooke is currently a student at the College of Charleston, majoring in Communications with a focus on Journalism and minoring in Studio Art with a focus on Photography. She continues to refine her perspective as both an artist and storyteller through practice, experimentation, and real-world experience.
