Brooke Babbit

Brooke Babbit is a photographer and aspiring photojournalist from Atlanta, Georgia, currently based in Charleston, South Carolina. Her photography journey began in 2020 while studying film photography in Paris, France, where she developed a passion for analog photography, darkroom printing, and visual storytelling.

Her interest gradually shifted toward photojournalism and documenting people, communities, and stories that might otherwise go unseen. In 2025, Brooke studied International Journalism and Society: The Role of the Media in the Modern World at the London School of Economics, strengthening her understanding of journalism, global media, and the power of visual storytelling.

In summer 2026, Brooke interned at Soho Photo Gallery in New York City, where she gained experience working within the professional photography world and exhibited six photographs in her first gallery exhibition. One of her photographs sold within two weeks of the exhibition opening.

Brooke is currently a photography intern with the Charleston City Paper, where she photographs local news stories and is developing a long-form photojournalism project documenting communities in the Charleston area. She is also a student at the College of Charleston, majoring in Communication with a focus on journalism and minoring in Studio Art with a focus on photography.

Through both documentary and fine-art photography, Brooke continues to explore her passion for capturing people, place and stories with honesty and purpose.
