At the end of 2024, I traveled to New York City, where I documented demonstrations at Columbia University. On one side of the fence, students and faculty rallied under the call to ‘Free Palestine.’ On the other, what appeared to be fathers and their sons gathered with signs urging ‘Bring Home the Hostages.’ Separated by a barrier but united in conviction, both groups stood firmly for the causes they believed in. The scene captured the growing tensions surrounding the Israel-Hamas war, a controversy that has ignited protests on campuses across the country.
